DISCOVERY NEVER ENDS

THE JOURNEY CONTINUES

In Kamenický Šenov, the tradition of first-rate craftsmanship has been meeting dazzling technological innovations for three hundred years now. It was then when expert glassmakers mastered light and stepped into the infinite space of fantasy. Preciosa Lighting has been operating in it ever since. And it aims on and on.

OUR OBJECTS

Light installation in Sky Innovation Centre

Sky Innovation Centre

London

A system of over a thousand opal spheres over the entrance area to the Sky Innovation Centre forms a nebula of colors, lights and emotions called Billion Pixels. The setting of the installation—and thus the specific look of the light scene—can be easily changed.

Light installation in Grandhotel Pupp

Grandhotel Pupp

Karlovy Vary

A majestic pendant luminaire called Bubble Rings illuminates the Marble Hall, which is the centerpiece of the Parkside area of the famous hotel. Crystal spheres with 25cm in diameter and 80 light sources are to be seen on the orbit of the half-ton installation.

Light installation in Shangri-La

Shangri-La

Shanghai

The crystal bodies of the Crystal Harmony kinetic installation are constantly moving. In total, there are 45 magnolia petals and six pairs of fragile wings fluttering by the entrance to the hotel lobby of the Shanghai hotel Shangri-La.

Light installation in M/Y Geco Yacht

M/Y Geco

Italy

A spectacular wave-shaped installation floats on this luxurious Italian superyacht. The lighting system consists of hand-cut amber crystal bars of different lengths, each of which is illuminated by its own LED chip.

Light installation in Crown Towers Sydney Hotel & Resort

Crown Towers Sydney Hotel & Resort

Sydney

In one of the most luxurious hotels in Australia, you may find a luminaire that coils along a staircase through four floors. The glary lighting system is supplemented also by installations in other rooms, including eight luminaires made by fusing or 20kg hand-blown “plates”.

Light installation in Singapore Changi Airport

Singapore Changi Airport

Singapore

Being a significant traffic junction in Asia, the Singapore Changi Airport features a star-reaching tree bedecked with 650 crystal components. Leaves fly away from its branches and, in the dynamic lighting, change themselves into a colorful swarm of butterflies.

Light installation in Los Angeles International Airport

Los Angeles International Airport

Los Angeles

A light vortex of the largest airport on the West Coast of the USA lures passengers. The installation from clear optical glass and polished stainless steel penetrates three floors, dynamically changes colors and can resist up to seven on the Richter scale.

Light installation in New York Marriott Marquis Hotel

New York Marriott Marquis Hotel

New York

You may see unique pearl necklaces in this four-star hotel on Broadway. Each of the eight Pearl Drop luminaires is about 40 meters long and may be dynamically illuminated either individually or in synchronization with the others.

Light installation in One & Only One Za'abeel Resort

One&Only One Za'abeel Resort

Dubai

A unique resort featuring the highest-situated cantilever bridge in the world presents a star cluster of 312 luminaires dominated by Crystal Forest: almost 7 000 dynamically illuminated crystal bars form the shape of 18 trees in the hotel lobby.

Light installation in Reem Mall

Reem Mall

Abu Dhabi

There is a constellation of two falcons at the ceiling of the Reem Mall shopping center in the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Due to its dynamical colorful scenes, the 14m installation can symbolize flight trajectory and is a tribute to the local falconry tradition.

OUR GALAXY

Light spreads. From Kamenický Šenov on and on, to other countries, to other continents.

Meet Preciosa Lighting

OUR MISSION

The moment that changed everything came three hundred years ago. A big bang of human imagination and Czech crystal arrived in Prácheň near Kamenický Šenov in 1724. A factory for the production and export of crystal chandeliers emerged. It was then when we set off for the journey.

Expert glassmakers were discovering previously unexpected possibilities and gradually they managed to control light more and more. Czech chandeliers were sparkling in Versailles as well as in the residence of the Ottoman sultan. The Russian czarina was interested in them and they decorated the coronation of Maria Theresa in 1743.

The inhabitants of so-called Crystal Valley were driven by the desire to behold something no one had ever seen before, and mainly to show it to others. In the meantime, the glass-making craft was improving along with technologies: tradition naturally met innovation on the orbit of fantasy.

Even today, we are not changing the trajectory. We know what we have been through and we keep that in mind while looking at the horizon towards where the craft is headed; driven still by the same power of inquisitive desire to discover something unknown and to light up faces with joy of beauty.

In order to leave only the best possible mark in the design galaxy, we very often devote ourselves to the projects from the initial draft to the final installation. No matter if it is for royal palaces, luxury hotels or private yachts—our crystal chandeliers and lighting installations become beacons of the whole quest for the fragile glass dream. It is thanks to them that we know the journey continues.

We have travelled three hundred light years, yet we still have other goals before us. The future stays bright.
